An architectural section detail at the second floor opening shows a guard anchored into a structural steel channel running along the floor edge at plus fifteen feet zero inches top of topping. The steel channel bears directly upon a multi-ply cross-laminated timber floor panel. All exposed steel components are specified to be painted with all welds ground smooth. The exposed cross-laminated timber is to be sanded smooth and edge sealed.
