This assembly features concrete pavers set on a one-inch maximum sand base over a sub-base as specified in civil and geotechnical reports. The pavers are notched around through-bolts that anchor the slide stair stringer, which is provided by the slide contractor. A molded plastic edge support is secured with landscape spikes to retain the paver edge against the adjacent soil. Polymerized jointing sand is applied at all typical paver joints. The concrete footing for the slide stair is installed by the concrete contractor, with the mud slab slope coordinated to match the slope of the concrete pavers.
