An interior wall junction connects a scheduled storefront window system and a scheduled metal stud partition wall. The partition wall is framed with two eighteen-gauge cold-formed metal studs mechanically fastened at the jamb, finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board on each side, and filled with continuous sound batt insulation. The storefront frame is installed against the stud jamb with shims as required for proper alignment and clearance. A continuous colored sealant with a backer rod is applied on both sides of the window frame joint. The scheduled glazing is secured within the storefront framing system.
