An interior partition wall terminates at a concrete-filled corrugated metal deck running parallel to the wall alignment. The top track receives a one-inch deflection clearance beneath the underside of the deck, sealed with firestop material on each side. Gypsum wallboard is attached to metal framing studs, leaving the head joint detailed for a rated or non-rated head-of-wall condition per Underwriters Laboratories design D0633.
