An inverted cap sheet is loose-laid over the structural seismic strap and nailed in place across the oriented strand board roof deck. The protective membrane extends six inches beyond the edges of the underlying metal strap to prevent puncturing or abrasion of the primary roofing materials. Fastener placement and spatial clearances are dimensioned across the rectangular protective overlay.
