A rectangular duct penetrates a one-hour or two-hour rated gypsum board wall assembly framed with metal studs. A sixteen-gauge minimum galvanized steel angle frames the penetration on both sides of the wall. Firestop sealant is applied on both sides of the wall around the perimeter of the duct. The assembly conforms to Underwriters Laboratories system number W-L-7155.
