A W18 wide-flange beam connects to a W24 wide-flange column using a three-quarter-inch thick plate shear tab welded to the column web with a typical 7/16-inch fillet weld. Fifteen 7/8-inch diameter A325 slip-critical bolts fasten each beam web to the shear tab, with threads excluded from the shear plane. Additional W24 framing members are indicated below the primary connection per structural plans.
