An acoustical penetration detail passes through a framed wall with gypsum board finishes on both sides. The joint surrounding the penetrating element is filled full depth with acoustical sealant in a one-quarter to one-half inch joint. A minimum forty-three mil sheet metal escutcheon is set in sealant within the one-half to one-inch annular space.
