An L4 x 4 x 1/4 angle brace is placed at the roof deck bearing on each side at the top of the steel column, extending to the nearest joist or beam. A one-half-inch closure plate covers the top of the column. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the angle to the column. Typical roof deck attachment to the angle is provided as specified in the structural drawings.
