A metal stud partition terminates at the underside of a profiled metal deck with a specialized shadowline fire track. Five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board is fastened to both sides of the metal studs, extending up to the track assembly. Mineral wool insulation fills the void above the wall within the flutes of the metal deck. Fire-rated gypsum compound or fire caulk seals the joints between the framing and the deck underside.
