An aluminum storefront system mullion meets the head of a framed wall assembly composed of cold-formed metal stud framing and glass-mat gypsum sheathing. The exterior features plaster over metal lath and a weather-resistive barrier, transitioning to the storefront frame via a painted sheet metal flashing. Shims are placed as required between the framing and the storefront head member, with a backer rod and sealant joint sealing the exterior gap. Batt insulation fills the metal stud cavity behind an outline of future interior finish.
