Diagonal braces connect to a vertical column and horizontal beam intersection using five-eighths-inch thick connection plates. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the gusset plates to the structural framing at standard clearances. Bolted connections with standard edge distances fasten the diagonal members to the gusset plates. A work point is established at the intersection of the framing centerlines.
