A rated gypsum board partition terminates below a structural concrete floor slab with a deflection track providing up to two inches of maximum movement. Mineral wool forming material is installed flush within the joint space and sealed with a spray-applied fire sealant providing a minimum one-half inch overlap onto adjacent surfaces. The assembly maintains a two-hour fire rating under UL designation HW-D-0107, utilizing minimum three and five-eighths inch studs per schedule.
