An intermediate aluminum window mullion frames into an interior partition wall built with a 1 1/2-inch laminated veneer lumber backer and rigid insulation. A 1/2-inch medium-density overlay panel finishes the connection area adjacent to the aluminum window framing. A backing rod and sealant joint provides weatherproofing and seals the gap between the aluminum window frame and the wall finish.
