Suspended acoustical ceiling assemblies require proper seismic restraint including vertical hanger wires, compression struts, and splayed brace wires attached to the structure above. Heavy duty main runners support acoustical panel ceilings, suspension tees, and lay-in light fixtures which are mechanically fastened to the ceiling system. Seismic perimeter clips are screwed to runners with slotted holes at free sides and fixed connections at opposite walls to accommodate movement. Compression posts attach to main runners and structural members supporting the roof or floor above with four twelve gauge brace wires attached to the structure within two inches of cross runner intersections and splayed ninety degrees from each other at a maximum forty-five degree angle from the ceiling plane.
