An ACO S100K Class E trench drain or approved equal is embedded in a Type 1 Portland cement concrete surround, featuring a four-inch traffic-rated grate. The assembly includes a valley gutter lip and minimum six-inch clearances around the sides and beneath the bottom of the channel. Expansion joints are required along the trench drain abutting edge with concrete, while no expansion joint is required along the edge of asphaltic concrete pavement. The finished level of the concrete surround sits approximately one-eighth inch above the top of the channel edge.
