This plan detail shows a control joint in a resinous flooring installation running adjacent to the flange of a structural steel column. The joint assembly consists of a polyethylene backer rod topped with Stonflex MP7 or similar sealant, recessed flush with the resinous flooring finish. The concrete slab below incorporates a vertical control joint aligned with the flooring joint. A typical one-foot dimension is referenced from the column centerline.
