The elevator hoistway divider screen is framed with 1-1/4 by 5/8 inch channel perimeter panels and centered around a guiderail with a square tube having a 0.120 inch wall. Horizontal stiffeners are constructed from 1 by 1/2 inch channels placed back to back and either welded or riveted. The infill consists of 1 inch square mesh made from number 10 gauge woven wire with intermediate crimp. The hoistway divider screen is designated as design build and maintains a maximum gap of 1 inch vertically and horizontally, except for a 3 inch sweep space at the bottom of the pit screens.
