A 1-1/2 inch outside diameter steel pipe handrail and 5/8 inch outside diameter steel pipe intermediate railings are supported by a 1-1/2 inch outside diameter handrail support. The handrail and intermediate railings align with the stair stringer and a closer plate, requiring a field splice at the termination point that must be welded and ground smooth. The stair nosing is located at the tread, and a 2 inch wide contrasting color warning stripe is applied to the top and bottom treads of the interior stair. Intermediate railing spacing is 3 inches from the handrail, with central spacing determined per plan.
