The assembly frames a duct penetration through an exterior wall with six-inch metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center and a box stud header. Exterior gypsum sheathing receives a self-adhered weather resistive barrier and cement plaster over metal lath. The head condition integrates a casing bead with weep holes above the duct opening. Sealant over a closed cell backer rod finishes the joint between the plaster finish and the duct. R-19 batt insulation fills the stud cavity.
