A 3-5/8 inch by 18-gauge diagonal wall brace connects between non-bearing steel stud top tracks and the corrugated metal deck above at approximately 45 degrees. The top of the brace features a clipped flange forming a shoe secured to the lowest portion of the corrugated deck using four screws, taking care not to penetrate the roofing membrane. Alternatively, the top shoe fastens to the bottom chords of open-web joists. The bottom of the brace terminates with a similar clipped flange secured with four screws into the top track of the non-bearing steel stud wall.
