An HSS6x4 hollow structural section column supports an inclined HSS6x4 beam framing at an 84-degree angle. A 1/2-inch cap plate caps the top of the column and is welded with a field weld on the top side only. A 3"x3"x1/4" by 0'-4" bent plate acts as a seat connection underneath the beam, welded with typical 3/16-inch fillet welds on three sides.
