An exterior acoustic wall panel is mounted over a half-inch treated plywood substrate and a seven-eighths inch hat channel attached to a CMU block backup wall. A stainless steel metal flashing with a drip edge sits above the acoustic panel, protecting the joint. Above the flashing, a one-inch synthetic wood cant four feet long is installed typically with half-inch gaps between lengths. A sheet water barrier runs behind the furring and ties into the assembly beneath the cement fiber lap siding.
