This assembly details a small pipe penetration through an acoustical partition wall, maintaining sound attenuation integrity. The pipe passes through the wall cavity, which is filled with acoustical batt insulation and framed with metal studs at a 1/4 inch typical offset. A 3/4 inch thick, 40 durometer neoprene pad is installed on both sides of the partition to isolate the pipe from the wall structure. The annular space around the pipe is filled with a continuous 1/4 inch bead of acoustical sealant, finished with a pipe escutcheon on both faces. The pipe is supported by a pipe support hanger, with duct hangers provided per mechanical, electrical, and plumbing seismic support detailing.
