A PVC single-ply roofing or waterproofing membrane is secured to a hard, smooth substrate using an applicable bonding adhesive and a mechanical nail-in termination bar. Water cut-off mastic is applied beneath the membrane edge and held under constant compression behind the bar. A bead of single-ply sealant finishes the top edge of the termination bar. The installation notes specify that the detail is restricted to hard smooth surfaces, must not wrap around corners, and is excluded from warranties exceeding twenty years.
