A floor transition between porcelain tile and carpeting is supported by a concrete floor slab. An ADA compliant sloping metal edge trim bridges the height difference between the two floor finishes. Feather topping is applied beneath the carpet at the transition if required to maintain a one-quarter-inch maximum transition height.
