An aluminum door frame holding an insulated glass unit sets directly upon a concrete substrate. Caulk and seal are applied at the exterior and interior base of the frame to provide a complete weather seal. Landscaped grade meets the exterior concrete edge adjacent to the threshold. Flashing and caulking are required for a complete seal at the interface.
