An aluminum ladder connects to a hollow structural section support framing a roof catwalk platform. The assembly features aluminum channel rails with cover plates, serrated aluminum rungs, and a safety cap at the top. Aluminum brackets attach the side rails to the structural steel member using four quarter-inch diameter stainless steel self-tapping sheet metal screws with washers, with separation provided between dissimilar metals. The ladder includes a step-across platform at the top with a three-foot six-inch high handrail assembly spaced at one-foot increments. The bottom of the ladder extends down to a prefabricated equipment curb with a cricket around it for drainage.
