A five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld is specified, providing a one-foot-zero-inch weld centered on the shear plate at the top and bottom typically. Bolt counts and shear plate thicknesses are sized per schedule, with weld sizes referenced from detail two on sheet S5.31. An AISC 'K' dimension gap is maintained at the top flange.
