A hollow metal frame is set into a masonry wall opening with a grout-filled interior cavity and a bituminous coating applied to the exterior contact surface. Jamb anchors secure the frame to the masonry at a maximum spacing of eight inches. The masonry is notched as required for hardware provisions and specific conditions. A sealant joint seals the junction between the metal frame and the adjacent masonry surface.
