Non-bearing interior partitions connect to overhead structural steel beams and metal decks using sixteen gauge slip tracks secured with number ten screws at each side of each stud and zero-point-one-five-seven diameter shot pins at twelve inches on center or number ten self-tapping screws at sixteen inches on center. Partitions parallel to steel beams feature a five-eighths inch typical gap with number ten screws fastening the top track. Studs perpendicular to steel decks utilize slip tracks fastened directly to the deck flutes or through plates. Additional conditions illustrate stud attachment parallel to steel deck flutes and on flutes with specific fastener spacing and shot pin configurations.
