This plan detail shows a structural steel column boxed out with six-inch cold-formed metal framing and two-and-a-half-inch interior metal studs. The assembly is finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board on the interior side and five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing topped with formed metal panels on the exterior. R-19 batt insulation fills the cavity between the framing members. The detail references grid line J.6 and indicates the edge of the slab.
