Suspended drywall ceiling framing consists of one and one-half inch channels spaced at a maximum of four feet on center. Eight-gauge hanger wires suspend the carrying channels at forty-eight inches on center and within six inches of the channel ends. Furring channels are spaced at a maximum of twenty-four inches on center perpendicular to the carrying channels. Five-eighths-inch gypsum board is secured to the underside of the framing.
