This assembly consists of normal weight concrete over a metal deck supported by a structural steel beam. Spray-applied fireproofing is applied to the underside of the metal decking at a minimum thickness of 3/8 inch. Additional spray-applied fireproofing is applied to the structural steel beam at a minimum thickness of 11/16 inch. Both thicknesses must be verified with the manufacturer to achieve the total 2-hour fire-rated assembly per UL design D759.
