Two seven-eighth-inch furring channels are nested with a minimum eight-inch overlap to form a continuous ceiling support framing run. The overlapped channels are secured with a screw on each side and wrapped with double loops of eighteen-gauge wire near the ends. The assembly is suspended from one-and-one-half-inch main runner channels hung with eight-gauge hanger wire spaced at four feet on center maximum each way. A finish ceiling material is applied directly to the underside of the nested furring channels.
