This plan detail shows a hollow metal frame intersecting a gypsum board partition assembly. The hollow metal jamb is secured with jamb anchors and spot grouted in place. Continuous steel J-runners terminate the partition framing against the frame profile. Layers of gypsum board finish both sides of the partition, stopping with a half-inch clearance at the frame return. Partition construction and varying conditions are determined by the architectural partition type schedule.
