A roof expansion joint assembly incorporates a 0.090-inch formed aluminum cover plate spanning between continuous extruded aluminum frames. The aluminum frames are secured with 1/4-inch by 1-inch stainless steel lag screws with sealing washers spaced at 18 inches on center. A continuous moisture seal and continuous sealant provide weatherproofing at the joint transitions. The assembly includes a thermal barrier and polyethylene vapor barrier backed by exterior wall construction. Cap screws measuring 5/16-inch by 3-1/2-inch with sealing washers and PVC spacers secure components at 18 inches on center alongside 1/4-inch by 2-1/4-inch wedge bolts with sealing washers.
