A custom plaster medallion is secured to a suspended gypsum board ceiling supported by ceiling framing and hangers. Plywood backing is mounted between the ceiling framing members to provide additional anchorage. Toggle bolts secure the plaster medallion through the gypsum board and plywood backing, with keys and countersunk holes filled with plaster. Construction adhesive is applied between the medallion and the gypsum board. A central junction box accommodates wiring through a pendant escutcheon.
