This cross section details the roof membrane lap joint over a roof truss and roof sheathing assembly. Rigid insulation is installed directly above the roof sheathing, which is supported by structural roof trusses. A reinforced membrane covers the insulation with a lapped joint secured by fasteners and fastener plates installed per the manufacturer specifications. Sealant is applied at the lap joint maintaining a minimum one and a half inch overlap and a half inch minimum edge clearance.
