This wall-mounted support assembly anchors heavy medical equipment to existing metal stud framing through a 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board finish. A Unistrut P100 channel is attached horizontally at 36 inches above finished floor, capped at each end, and secured with P1010 spring nuts. In the reinforced configuration, a 6-inch tall by 1/4-inch thick ASTM A36 steel backing plate spans a minimum of two studs and connects via number 12 self-drilling screws with 1/4-inch minimum drilling capacity at the top and bottom. Half-inch diameter welded threaded rods with nuts are spaced at 12 inches on center with a maximum of 4 inches from each end, with a minimum of three required. A stainless steel cable tether and M2350 swivel hanger with chain restrain the X-ray equipment.
