A one-and-one-half-inch diameter pipe handrail is mounted to a partition wall using a three-inch diameter by one-quarter-inch thick plate bracket. The bracket attaches to required wood blocking within the partition and features a one-quarter-inch minimum clearance. Handrail ends return to the wall typically. Brackets are spaced at a maximum of five feet on center. The handrail resists a load of fifty pounds per foot applied in any direction at the top.
