Metal stair pans with concrete fill are supported by painted steel stringers and finished per schedule, featuring contrasting safety strips at the top and bottom treads. The stringer base rests on a concrete slab and is secured using expansion anchors. A one-hour fire-rated assembly consisting of two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard is attached to the underside of the stairs. A continuous steel plate aligns along the stringer edge, and floor finishes are accommodated up to a maximum thickness.
