The pavement assembly consists of a six-inch reinforced Portland cement concrete slab placed over a four-inch compacted depth crushed surfacing base course and a twelve-inch stabilized subgrade or cement-treated base. The concrete requires a four-thousand pound per square inch twenty-eight-day strength with an air-entrained medium broom finish. Three-quarter-inch diameter smooth dowels are specified at all construction joints spaced at twelve inches on center and extending sixty inches from the face of the building.
