A continuous handrail and a cane detection rail integrate at a stair assembly. The assembly incorporates a one-half-inch by one-half-inch stainless steel bar serving as a cane detection rail, which returns and welds to the double bar guardrail post. A one-and-one-half-inch continuous wood tubing handrail is specified for interior applications, while a one-and-one-half-inch stainless steel tubing handrail is used at exterior conditions. Metal grate treads featuring checkered plate nosing are positioned below the railing alignment per specifications.
