The platform edge consists of a bullnose nosing over hardwood millwork, which sits atop a 2-inch by 7-inch maximum vertical face. The platform surface is finished with luxury vinyl tile flooring installed over two layers of 3/4-inch plywood and 2x wood sleepers spaced at 12 inches on center. An aluminum track with internal LED light tape is recessed into the edge, requiring coordination between the framer, flooring, and low-voltage contractors. A 1/2-inch plywood layer is applied to the vertical face, and the entire platform assembly is specified to remain unattached to the floor slab.
