Non-structural metal framing studs support layers of gypsum board on both faces with acoustic blanket insulation filling the cavity. Electrical junction boxes are installed on opposite sides of the wall and offset by a minimum of one stud space to maintain acoustic performance. Acoustical joint sealant is applied around the perimeter of the box penetrations where they meet the gypsum board.
