This assembly secures a five-inch by two-inch hollow structural section mullion to a concrete vestibule slab. The base connection consists of a one-quarter-inch by four-and-a-half-inch by six-inch steel base plate anchored by two three-quarter-inch by six-inch Titen HD heavy-duty screw anchors. A one-quarter-inch thick stiffener plate is welded between the base plate and the vertical face of the hollow structural section. The top of the hollow structural section is finished with a one-quarter-inch cap plate. All steel components and fasteners are specified to be painted black to match the adjacent curtain wall mullions.
