A bent edge deck plate bears on a structural steel beam and incorporates a three-inch vertical offset with a four-inch horizontal return. A three-eighths inch stiffener plate is welded to the beam web with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds and ends per detail 2 on sheet S-510. The vertical leg of the bent plate features a snipe to clear the bend, and a half-inch clearance is maintained at the transition.
