An insulated steel pipe up to six inches in diameter passes through a partition per plan with an annular space ranging from zero to one and seven-eighths inches. A five-eighths-inch minimum thick firestopping sealant fills the annulus, complemented by a one-half-inch minimum sealant bead at the point of contact. An optional steel sleeve up to twenty inches in diameter accommodates the penetration. Two inches of thick heavy-density glass fiber pipe insulation wraps the pipe, adhering to UL listing W-L-5029.
