Lead-lined gypsum board wall assemblies receive continuous lead battens at the recessed item junction to maintain radiation protection continuity. The partition wall is constructed with two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board laminated together on each side of metal studs. Recessed wall items are positioned according to architectural floor plans, with lead battens sealing potential radiation leakage paths around the perimeter of the recess.
